Both categories are open to nominations of Extension Master Gardener Coordinators regardless of the nominees employment status (volunteer, part time, full time, VCE Agent or not, county paid or state paid, etc). The nominee’s primary engagement with the EMG Unit must be EMG Coordination. Un-paid coordinators must be VCE-approved. Nominees must currently be serving as EMG Coordinators. Only one nomination per EMG Unit per year.
Outstanding New EMG Coordinator: 1-3 years of service.
Coordinator of the Year (2025-2026): More than 3 years of service.
Who can nominate?
Nominations may not be self-nominations, and must be submitted by a volunteer or VCE employee that works directly with the EMG Coordinator (nominee).
How will awards be judged?
These awards will be judged by a pre-selected team composed of representatives from VCE Administration and Extension Master Gardener Volunteers. Judging panel identities will not be disclosed. We will announce the winners during our Extension Master Gardener College in June of 2026. Nominees should attend EMG College.
