EMG Coordinator Awards

Seeking Nominations for the 2025 EMG Statewide Program Awards

The State Extension Master Gardeners Office is now accepting nominations for two new state-wide EMG Coordinator Awards:

Outstanding New EMG Coordinator: 1-3 years of service.

Coordinator of the Year (2025-2026): More than 3 years of service.

Who is eligible?

Both categories are open to nominations of Extension Master Gardener Coordinators regardless of the nominees employment status (volunteer, part time, full time, VCE Agent or not, county paid or state paid, etc). The nominee’s primary engagement with the EMG Unit must be EMG Coordination. Un-paid coordinators must be VCE-approved. Nominees must currently be serving as EMG Coordinators.

Who can nominate?

Nominations may not be self-nominations, and must be submitted by a volunteer or VCE employee that works directly with the EMG Coordinator (nominee).

How will awards be judged?

These awards will be judged by a pre-selected team composed of representatives from VCE Administration, Extension Master Gardener Volunteers. Judging panel identities will not be disclosed. We will announce the winners on Friday June 13th at our Extension Master Gardener College.

To submit a nomination, please see the Google Doc below and send the information requested for that particular award to Grace Stern: emgoffice@vt.edu. Nominations are due by April 8th at 5:00 pm. No submissions will be considered after this deadline. Information may either be pasted into the body of an email or typed into a document and attached to the email.
