Volunteer Recognition

Milestone Awards

Volunteers are eligible for milestone awards (a printed certificate and small pin) when they surpass:

  • 250 hours
  • 500 hours
  • 1000 hours
  • Each round 1000 hour amount after 1000 (e.g. 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, etc.)

Milestones are normally awarded once per year around the time of Master Gardener College (early summer). If you are an agent or coordinator, monitor your email in late winter for a request for your milestone awards from the previous year. It is the responsibility of the local agent/coordinator to compile a list of milestone awardees and communicate with the State Office in order to receive certificates and pins.

Special Recognition

If you have a volunteer who has gone above and beyond and you would like them to receive a letter of recognition and bumper sticker from the state office, please consider a “special recognition” certificate. Request the certificate through the order form here.
